How To Repair Marine Airbags

Oct 18, 2019

Airbag repair: Damaged forms of marine airbags can generally be divided into longitudinal cracks, lateral cracks on rubber fenders, and nail holes.

Delineate the repair area as the boundary of the polished surface. The repair range of the rubber fender should be extended around the crack, so as not to miss the hidden injury.

Polish the surface of the repaired part until the fiber line is exposed, and the rubber fenders do not damage the fiber line.

For long cracks, first use a cord to sew. The position of the rubber fender is about 2 to 3 cm from the crack, and the needle pitch is about 10 cm.

Wash the surface of the part to be repaired with gasoline and dry the rubber fender.

Apply a layer of glue. Rubber fender glue is prepared by soaking raw rubber in gasoline.

Seal the crack with a green rubber strip with a thickness of 1mm and a width of 1cm larger than the crack.

Brush gasoline and let it dry.
